F. D. (Francis David) Nichol (1897-1966) served the Seventh-day Adventist Church in several positions, most notably as editor of the Review and Herald, the general church paper, from 1945 to his death in 1966. William Miller (1782-1849) is the American farmer and Baptist preacher who proclaimed the imminent return of Christ in the 1830's and 1840's and founded the religious movement known as the Millerite Movement.
